Don HallDon Hall is the founder and Executive Director of Transition Sarasota, an organization that seeks to revitalize local agriculture, strengthen our local economy, reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, and serve as an inspiration and model for other communities who wish to do the same. Previously, he worked for two years as the Education and Outreach Coordinator for Transition Colorado (now, the Local Food Shift Group), the first official Transition Initiative in North America and a statewide hub.

Don Hall holds a Master’s in Environmental Leadership from Naropa University and is a certified Permaculture Designer and US Transition Trainer. In 2011, Don graduated from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s Gulf Coast Leadership Institute, and, in 2012, he was recognized as one of the “10 People Behind Local Food” by Cooper Levey-Baker of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. In 2013, Transition Sarasota was presented with Edible Sarasota’s Local Hero Award for Best Nonprofit, and in 2015, Don was profiled as part of SRQ Magazine‘s “SRQ Millennial 6.”
